Hottest Spring Break Locations

Hottest Spring Break Locations

Whoever invented Spring Break got it exactly right: combine a sun-splashed setting, inexpensive hotels willing to accept 12 Neanderthals to a room, an anything-goes atmosphere and thousands of perfectly tanned college girls in their tiniest bikinis. Shake, stir, enjoy; repeat. There’s no better way to reboot your brain after frying it on weeks of study sessions and midterm exams – and probably no better single reason to go to college in the first place. If done correctly, Spring Break will leave you with a lifetime of stories. The hardest part is deciding exactly where to go, so here’s a handy list to help narrow the choices down. We’ve done them all and these are our favorites……..READ MORE

10. Las Vegas Nevada

For those of you who slept through geography, there are no beaches in Sin City. Instead, the scene in Vegas is all about the pools, with some of the most spectacular water features in the world. The hotels on the Strip aren’t the bargains they once were, but you can still eat like a pig for less than $20 at the numerous buffets around town. Vegas offers every form of entertainment known to man, and the town’s legions of beautiful showgirls and strippers can often be found in the clubs after hours. If you’re over 21, of course, the rules change dramatically and Las Vegas offers all kinds of opportunity to get into trouble. It’s the best place in the world to lose your shirt or win your tuition; and if you don’t happen to get lucky, the phone book is thick with lovely “escorts” who are happy to meet you back in your hotel room … for a price.

9. Key West Florida

Key West has seen its Spring Break population grow steadily in recent years. Why? Two words: nude beaches. Hell, yeah! The island atmosphere and tropical climate inspire a year-round party mood that only gets crazier when the town welcomes thousands of students (picture New Orleans with palm trees). By day, you can get your beach on or take in the local history; by night, the clubs and bars of Duval Street are lively and crowded enough for anybody to find what they might be looking for, especially if they’re looking for a reason to finally take that two-year-old condom out of its faded wrapper.

8. Lake Havasu Arizona

Local mountains provide a spectacular backdrop to the real attraction – the lake itself, which becomes one huge floating party with thousands of sunburned students getting wet and going, well, utterly berserk. Hundreds of boats crowd together for the spectacle of high dives and wet T-shirt contests, as well as the dependable laugh riot of watching kids from other schools get busted for open containers. Havasu can’t boast the same level of nightlife that other Spring Break destinations offer, but you’ll need the cool evenings to sleep off the excesses of the day and to nurse your sunburn.

7. Mazatlan Mexico

Mazatlan still features plenty of cultural flavor: in other words, it hasn’t been Americanized and Burger Kinged to death like other Spring Break Meccas. The people are friendly and the beaches feature some of the best surfing in Mexico. Prices are lower than any other destination on this list. The city is compact and walks able with a great selection of dive bars and swanky open-till-dawn clubs. There are great seafood restaurants right on the sand and the setting is so romantic that if you can’t manage to hook up here, you should probably stay home from Spring Break altogether.

6. Negril Jamaica

Negril is an exotic change of pace for veteran Spring Breakers. It offers the azure water, soft white sand and tropical weather requisite for any decent Spring Break, along with the added attraction of clothing-optional sunbathing. That means nude chicks, dude! And like Mexico, the drinking age is 18. You can bike through sugar cane fields, dive down waterfalls, raft wild rivers, kayak into sea caves or just lounge by the pool and eyeball the hotties. But things really light up in Negril when it gets dark. It’s Jamaica, Mon, and that means the clubs pump out all the reggae and rum you can handle. Ah, yes, the perfect recipe for a vacation you’ll spend the rest of your life trying to remember.

5. Miami Florida

If you spend more on clothes than textbooks, and your idea of Spring Break is busting a dance move on a club floor crowded with hot girls, Miami may be your choice. South Beach is like Vegas on the water, with thousands of beautiful young people strolling and strutting their oil-slicked bods day and night. The pricey hotels and steep cover prices for the better clubs provide a natural-selection pecking order that requires a thick wallet, if you want to get lucky with the class of girl you’re likely to meet here. Still, the atmosphere is electric, the scene is intoxicatingly cool and there are still a few hotels that won’t eat into your booze budget. Besides, the beaches are still free.

4. Daytona Beach Florida

Leave your passport at home! This is the undisputed birthplace of Spring Break, and it’s still going strong four decades later. Its broad beach provides plenty of room for airing out your hangover and hitting on anything in a bikini. And the popularity of this Spring Break epicenter means that you’ll find plenty to hit on. Daytona knows what vacationing students need – cheap motel rooms and a tolerant atmosphere – and they provide both in generous measure, so long as you don’t act like an asshole. This is the Spring Break you always heard about, with sun, sand, sweet babes everywhere and a party in every room.

3.  Acapulco Mexico

The “jewel of Mexico” is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The sun is hot, the sand is soft and the clubs stay open until daylight. You’ll find a slightly more upscale class of girl here, since the travel and accommodations are steeper than state bound destinations. But from what we’ve experienced, the classier the girl, the nastier she tends to be when you want her to be. Acapulco nightlife is world class (which means dress codes) and you’ll meet students from all over the globe. Somehow, a cute accent always seems to make a hot girl even hotter. And if she can’t speak English at all? Hey, there are other things to do with a pair of lips, dude.

2.  South Padre Island Texas

This island on the Gulf of Mexico is probably the most popular Spring Break location in the country. It’s convenient, comfortable and built for partying. The locals embrace the annual invasion of college animals and are happy to join in the party themselves. Hotels will rent to you, even if you’re under 21. Clubs like Señor Frog’s hold contests designed on the idea that girls should wear as little as possible, and on South Padre Island, it’s legal to drink on the beach. Did you hear that? Legal to drink on the beach! Mexico is just a short boat ride across the bay, so you can enjoy two cultures in one vacation. And south of the border, the law says that if you’re old enough to volunteer for war, you’re old enough to enjoy a beer or two. Or three. You can raise your glass in a toast to our Mexican neighbors and be comfortably back in bed by dawn in the good ol’ US of A.

1.  Cancun Mexico

Has dozens of adordable hotels and the most inviting beaches anywhere, making it a massively popular Spring Break destination. The nights totally go on with a vibrant street life and clubs that can hold literally thousands of college guys and girls dancing, drinking and looking for a reason to take their clothes off. You will hook up here. If you wake up before dusk, there are Mayan ruins to explore, reefs to snorkel, and beach contests that’ll allow you to embarrass yourself in ways you never dreamed of. If you’re looking for the quintessential Spring Break experience, drop your books and get your ass to Cancun.
